Ronald G. "Ronnie" Abing

Ronald G. "Ronnie" Abing, age 63 of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 3, 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa; the son of Cyril and Florentine (Wallenhorst) Abing. Ronnie graduated from Lancaster High School in 1975, where he excelled in wrestling and was a leader of the FFA. He was united in marriage to Terri J. Martin on August 18, 1979 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Ronnie was a lifelong farmer. In 1983, he and Terri moved to the Haskin's farm in North Lancaster Township. In 1999, his dream of a one-of-a-kind large dairy operation became a reality as Ron, Terri, and John Haskins established Majestic View Dairy. As a progressive dairyman, he always kept the family farm in mind as he scaled the operation. Ron enjoyed mushroom hunting, ranger riding with Terri, and watching any kind of sports. Ronnie was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. He dearly loved socializing with his family and friends, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving wife Terri; a son Jesse (Joe Alequin); two daughters, Sarah (Casey) Anderson, Amanda (Josh) Buschor; five grandchildren, Amelia and Easton Johnsen, Jacob, Brooks, and Baylor Buschor; his siblings, Mary Kay (Jim Breuer) Abing, Peggy Sturmer, Randy (Jane), Charles "Chuck" (Kim), Keith (Lisa), Kevin (fiancee' Deb Tiedt), Ellen (Randy "Zippy") Koeller, Marty (Jennifer), and Kurt Abing; a brother-in-law, Al Martin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents Cyril and Florentine, Ronnie was also preceded in death by: a brother-in-law, Dave Sturmer; his father and mother-in-law, Carl (Theresa) Martin; and a stepfather, Dan Joyce.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Ronnie Abing Memorial Fund has been established.
